Understanding search engines

The more specific your search is, the more likely you are to get the results you want. You can refine your search by using:

• Plus sign for a term that must appear: + mammals + Australia.

• Minus sign for a term to be excluded: + marsupial - mouse.

• Domain searching: .au will limit to Australia, .gov to Government sites.

• Specific field searching: title: youth will limit to sites with the word youth in the title.
