If currency is important ask:
When was the information first published in print or electronic form?
When was the information last updated?
What are the publication dates of items included as references or listed in the bibliography?
Is the information still valid?
Keep in mind that information such as acts, regulations and standards are amended frequently and the very latest information may be crucial.
Tip: The copyright date on a published item usually corresponds to the publishing date and is found on the reverse of the title page of a book and at the bottom of a web page.
