Works with more than one author
For a direct quotation cite as follows:
"Tourism encompasses those activities that take people away from their usual place of residence for pleasure or a holiday and for reasons other than going to their normal place of work" (O'Shannessy & Minett 2003, p19)
For a reference to authors cite as follows:
O'Shannessy and Minett (2003) point out that tourism implies travel that is not work-related.
NB: Use "&" in the brackets but "and" within the text.
For three or more authors use the abbreviation "et al." (meaning "and others") after the first author's name.
For example, "Rail trails of Victoria" is written by Fiona Colquhoun, Alexander McCooke, Vince Aitkin and Ray Peace. In the text of your essay this will be cited as: "(Colquhoun et al. 2001)".
