Oxford (or footnote) system of referencing
Always include information about where your ideas have come from:
In the assignment itself (using a consecutive numbering system).
In detail in a footnote or endnote.
In a bibliography or a reference list.
How sources are cited within your assignment and in the footnotes or endnotes will depend on:
Whether or not this is the first time that this source has been cited.
How many sources have been cited previously.
Tip: Record the details of your sources as you are taking notes.
